Institutional Grants
A University of Maryland grant requires the following:
- Eligibility:
- Must be a Maryland State resident
- Completion of FAFSA by January 1
- Demonstrate financial need on the FAFSA
- Enroll in at least 12 credits per semester
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress
Institutional Scholarships
Merit scholarships provide financial offers to some of the University of Maryland’s most academically talented incoming students. Details regarding Freshman Merit Scholarships and Transfer Merit Scholarships can be found on the Office of Undergraduate Admissions website.
Other Institutional Aid
The Terrapin Commitment program requires the following:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year and qualify to receive the Federal Pell Grant.
- Be classified as an in-state student.
- Enroll full-time (12+ credits) per semester (Fall/Spring).
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
