The Maryland Degree Completion Scholarship (MDDCS) is a financial aid program that promotes on-time degree completion. This program is intended to provide undergraduate seniors with additional financial aid to help offset their financial need by covering any outstanding balance owed to the University of Maryland and assist them in registering for their last academic year or semester of college to complete their degree.

  • Eligibility Requirements: Eligible students must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. Eligible students must be in good academic standing, with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.00 or higher, and have demonstrated financial need based on the current-year FAFSA. 
  • The MDDCS will be awarded to an eligible senior undergraduate 1st degree-seeking (90+ credits) or the Institute of Applied Agriculture (IAA) certificate program student. The award can be offered for up to 2 semesters (fall, winter, spring, or summer) to cover the eligible student’s outstanding balance owed to the University of Maryland.  Eligible students can receive up to $4,000 MDDCS.
  • Eligible students can submit an application through Scholarship Universe to be considered for the MDDCS. Once the application is submitted, please allow 7 - 10 business days for your application to be reviewed.
