The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) offers scholarships and grants to eligible Maryland residents. It is important to note that the state’s priority deadline for the 2024-2025 academic year has been extended to May 15, 2024. Eligible Maryland resident students who are not eligible to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may complete the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA) to be considered for the state of Maryland grant programs. MHEC has a financial aid tool available to Maryland residents applying for State scholarships and grants called the MHEC One-App. This one application allows students to review and apply for the scholarship available through MHEC. Students must log into or create their Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) account to get started. Students who do not currently have an account must create one because the new application process is found in the student’s MDCAPS account.
Undocumented students eligible for in-state tuition may also complete the MHEC One-App. The MHEC One-App is a new tool that replaces the Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA).
